We also cater to our more sporting guests, with tours by bicycle or Vespa, a tennis club just 5 km away, a golf club at Castelfalfi and, for a relaxed and healthy body and mind, a gym and spa just 1 km from our location.
Our area
We are located at San Gimignano, just a few km from Siena.
Il Castro, immersed in the green Tuscan valleys, offers its guests an unforgettable experience, thanks to its strategic location in one of the most beautiful landscapes in Tuscany.
The area of San Gimignano is famous not only for its lovely valleys, but also for the marvellous squares of its ancient city centre, the most famous of which are Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza Sant’Agostino and Piazza della Cisterna.
There are innumerable cultural sites which bear timeless witness to the area’s history.
Art galleries, historic sacred art and ornithology museums, the famous museum of tortures for more courageous visitors, and the ancient mediaeval fountains.
Siena is nearby, an enchanting city which seems to have stood still in the 13th century, with its famous Piazza del Campo, where the Palio horse race is held every year, the noble Torre del Mangia, built around 1340, and many other cultural and historical sites.
The whole area seems designed to offer enjoyment, nature, history and relaxation, a masterpiece of this world which we love for the simple and yet essential things it offers.
